Not 24 but 18 teams in Viersen (GER)

Not 24, but only 18 teams will compete for the World Championship country teams in Viersen (GER) upcoming March. After the deadline to enlist last Saturday, the South American federation forgot to enlist Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador. This has consequences for Turkey, Germany and The Netherlands.

The UMB assumes that the South American federation forgot the deadline. Usually, the tournament is played with 18 A-teams, three South American teams and three B-teams of The Netherlands, Turkey and host Germany. Due to the absence of the South American teams, the B-teams are listed as reserve. The B-teams are for Turkey: Adnan Yüksel and Murat Naci Coklu, Germany Stefan Galla and Jens Eggers and for The Netherlands Raimond Burgman and Jean Paul de Bruijn.

The qualification rounds start March 1st with 6 poules of three teams.

The poules:
Poule A: Sweden (Blomdahl/Nilsson), Austria (Efler, Szivacz), and Portugal (Ruy Costa)
Poule B: The Netherlands (Jaspers/Van Erp), Japan (Ryuji Umeda), Swiss (Torsten Danielsson).
Poule C: Belgium (Merckx/Caudron), Vietnam (Duong/Ma), Italy (Sciacca).
Poule D: Germany (Horn/Rudolph), France (Bury/Barbeillon), Montenegro (Brajkovic en Brajkovic).
Poule E: Spain (Sánchez/Palazón), Denmark (Carlsen), Luxembourg (Hamm).
Poule F: Turkey (Cenet/Tasdemir), Korea (Cho/Choi), Egypt (Sidhom).
